Unparallel...

They were a happily married couple, expecting their first child. As everyone has, they too had expectations and dreams about their first child. Soon they came to know that they were going have twins. It was double the joy at the same time a bit of anxiety too. If everything could work properly, they would be a happy complete family, but something went terribly wrong somewhere...and only one of the child survived. It takes so much courage to see your first child dying, and its so much agony that there is nothing you can do about it. They swallowed the bitter truth trying not to speak about it trying to forget this pain. After two years, god gave them a chance, again twins but this time daughters. They were born, both healthy and fine. Unfortunately wrongness repeats itself more often than rightness. The girls survived almost one month. Then one of them got some kind of fever, the other one picked it up too. Things went worse and the fever defeated both of them. After one year a son was born. He was alright and healthy and grew well. But things kept going uniformly wrong with him. Most of his life was a struggle, even things that are ordinary for normal people used to get uneavenly wrong with him.He was born after three deaths, deaths of three children. He wouldnt have been born if erlier ones had survived. Was this the reason for all the things going wrong in his life? If the children had survived, probably they could have made better life than he had, and does this question really matter, because doesnt everyone has a right to survive? Is there anything called destiny, do we really have choices or life is just sequence of coincidences dominated by unfulfilled wishes and pain from the past?

the pic i took in pune,
dead plant, still existing,
still waiting to be degenerated by mother nature :)

interesting that u focused on the 3 that died instead of the first child that lived frm the first set of twins...
Also quite funny that the same thoughts were in my head this morning... and all weekend
do we have free will or is it all pre-ordained? might do an entry on it

ya, strangely i too was reading "transgressions" by Sarah dunant this morning :D
there too she say that there are hidden emotions and impulses which affect us and we dont realize
whats wrong. these should be 'resolved' or at least acknowledged to set them free...

Aditi said...

yes but are we strong enough to acknowledge/confront them? or even to truely understand them

I admit sheepishly I believe in destiny - I really do. THere is only so much in human control...and well, things have a way of working out although the waiting process sucks..btw why do you ignore the first born? Was she unimportant to the story? Or the fact that she lived isn't reason enuff to comment?!

ya! thats the real question...

what do u think, what shud he do?
will the things keep going forever like this?

#mellowdrama
i thought that it wud complicate the matter...there were lot of conflicts btween HIM and the son who survived. the son who survived was one of the identical twins. and identical twins are 'connected'.

we always look at the loss more than the gain!!

Honestly, he shouldnt dwell on it. Things happen the way they happen and they always will, as people all we can do is take things in stride and make the best decisions you can make considering the circumstances. He should live so that he doesnt have any regrets and make the best of it.. easier said then done.. but then things are always easier said then done

#deepsat
err...its not like that.
its more about the last guy who survived naa....

#aditi
on one level,
its true that he is suffering n if this suffering is really because of what happened in the past, then
is there anything he can do to free himself?

on a practical level,
i agree completly with whatever u said :D

Aditi said...

well maybe the suffering has to do wtih the past life or someone else's life
but technically see if your current life is going to affect your future life then shouldnt we do all the good we can? pichle janam ka to bhogat hi rahe hain kam se kam next janam toh sudhar le?
and why change anything? why not just try to enjoy what you have instead of focusing on that which u dont..
again easier said then done.. but why change anything..
If one happens to be sick a lot.. its not necessarily a flaw or a fault.. its just part of who they are.. a package deal

but...but...doesnt everyone have a right to make his/her lifer better?

Aditi said...

yes but can he do anything about it? can he change when and where he was born?

Junius said...

#aditi
u mean he has to accept that always things can go wrong beyond his control.
its correct... ya wat can he do?
but still i think its difficult to live a bare-minimum life,...

but... but... nothing lasts forever, so even this 'thing' too has to end sometime isnt it?

I dont know wht to comment.. i can just feel the pain of the parents..

Aditi said...

but y does it have to be a bare minimum life?
y because things are beyond his control does it mean that he is not enjoying his life
things are always beyond one's control.. doesnt mean there isnt any joy in life

both - read vedanta. u wil get very convincing answers that will even appeal to the most logical mind.

I guess we believe in either of the two as it suits us. we are always hell bent over believing vat we think n justifying it. Destiny or free will both can be used interchangeably as well n somehow am biased towrds a power known as will which can turn the tables the moment we want...
Sounds romantic but thats vat i choose to believe in...

#deepti
hey i too believe in what u said.
these thoughts just came to my mind n i was wondering so posted :D!!
btw strangely, we both posted previous comment around the same time hehe

dharmabum said...

vedanta has nothing to do with religion.

spirituality, yes. but what confusion? spirituality just means the humble acceptance of the existence of something beyong all that we can 'logicall' perceive :)
